About

Mika Zahar

Mika Zahar is a Montreal-based composer who makes epic, emotional, and ambient music, the kind that gives you goosebumps or makes you feel like you're sailing into battle (even if you're just doing dishes).

He loves blending world music flavours into his work, Middle Eastern, Celtic, you name it, weaving them into cinematic soundscapes for games and films.

You might know his music from Pirates Raids Conquest or the narrative-driven What Remains of Ish. His goal? Music that actually does something, shapes the scene, hits you in the feels, and occasionally convinces you you're way more heroic than you are.

Mika studied at Berklee College of Music and has the receipts to back it up: winner of a horror rescore competition, top 25% in the European Call for Scores, and top 8% in the Indie Film Music Contest.

When he's not composing, he's out teaching, running workshops on music and sound in video games for aspiring creators across the MENA region through The Gaming Academy. He also collaborates with Shriners Hospital for Children Canada, bringing a little joy to kids through music and sound.

Mika believes music can inspire, connect, and transform. And if it sneaks in a little fun along the way, even better.
